What to do when the you have started in InDesign and you get the "Start synchronization in InDesign" Error.
1. Don't Panic!
You do not need to panic and you do not need to force quit InDesign.
2. Update fileVersion Number
You will need to update the fileVersion number by performing the following tasks calmly…
2.1 Switch to InDesign_Import Layout
- Click: SIGN
- Choose: InDesign_Import
2.2 Update fileVersion Number
- Update the first record's fileVersion number to (-1) of the current contents. So if it was 201 it should be 200.
Note that if you don't see any numbers here, or if you're not viewing all the records, be sure to click the "Show All" button near the top of your screen and then go to the first record.
3. Retry Sync
3.1 Switch to SIGN Layout
- Click: InDesign_Import
- Choose: SIGN
- Press: SYNC
