This article will outline the changes in the new Edit Script and Dialog.
Install New Scripts and Keyboard Shortcuts
To install the new scripts (Edit_3.jsxbin and Sync_3.jsxbin) just follow this tutorial: Install Scripts
You can also remove the old Edit script (Edit.jsxbin)
If you still have old SignAgent Pro™ projects, you should keep the appropriate Sync script installed... if not, feel free to delete that too.
To reassign keyboard shortcuts, just follow this tutorial: Keyboard Shortcuts
Fun fact... the new Edit script will also work with old SignAgent Pro™ projects! So even if you have projects that aren't upgraded to SignAgent Pro™ 3.0, you can still take advantage of this new script!
New Feature: Reflow Numbers in InDesign
Here's an example of how the new Number Reflowing works...
Let's say that you've created some new signs in InDesign (as pictured above), but you need them renumbered properly (as indicated).
What you would do is select all the signs to be renumbered, in the order indicated above. (You can do this by selecting one by clicking on it, and then holding shift and clicking on the other signs in order)
Next, Press cmd+shift+1 on Mac or ctrl+shift+1 on PC to bring up the Edit Dialog
You'll notice a new field in the Edit dialog: Increment. This will only show up if you have multiple signs selected.
In order to reflow these numbers, enter your initial number in the number field, and the incremental value in the increment field.
If you want to reflow, you'll also want to confirm that both the Number field checkbox AND the Increment field checkbox are checked.
For our example, the initial value is 001, and we want each sign number to increase by 1.
Then we'll click OK.
You can see that the numbers have correctly reflowed themselves in the order we selected.
This new feature makes it a lot easier to reflow numbers while confirming visually that they're in the correct space.
Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
1. In the new Edit Script, Background colours no longer show up in the Type Field Dropdown list.
