Sometimes, this error will come up when trying to change sign types or Sync with the new scripts.
This error is caused if you have your InDesign Object Styles sorted into Style Groups (or folders), in the Object Styles panel.
We're aware of this bug and are actively working on a permanent fix. For now, here's a workaround to try.
1. Open up the Object Styles Panel in InDesign.
This can be done by going to View > Styles > Object Styles
2. Check for the Existence of Style Groups
Note in the image below that some of the Object Styles at the bottom are sorted into a Style Group (using the folder icon)
3. Move Object Styles out of Style Groups
To resolve the error, just move the object styles that are in the Style Group (or folder), so that all styles are in one long list. This can be done by selecting all the object styles in that style group (or folder) and dragging them to the main list. You should end up with one long list, similar to the image below.
4. Sync or Edit as Normal
With all the object styles out of their Style Groups, you should now be able to sync and edit normally. You can choose to delete or keep your style groups.
We know that this is a bit of an annoying workaround, as you may have your object styles organized nicely for your different projects, but this should help you to continue working with limited disruption until we're able to release a fix for this bug.
